Manchester City got the best of Leeds United and the team lead by head coach Pep Guardiola was able to secure a 3-2 last minute win, but the game left some concerns for fans and the coaching staff.

After taking a risk during the Champions League game against Bayer Leverkusen - resulting in a dissapointing 2-0 defeat -, the Cityzens bounced back on the Premier League, but the victory came with some drama.

After starting the game on the right foot and getting ahead 2-0, defensive mistakes allowed Leeds United to tie the game 2-2. Midfielder Phil Foden was able to struck twice to get the win for Manchester City, a much needed one for the Blues.

Guardiola's main concern in regards to Manchester City

Retaining possession was one of the staples of Manchester City, but now is not as easy as it once was and head coach Pep Guardiola will be concerned about the amount of times we gave the ball away against Leeds United, which ultimately led to costly mistakes on defense.

"The game was not in the perfect place in the first half, but it should be over for the chances we have and we didn't concede," Guardiola said after the game. He added that football is emotions, and that got the best of them during the second half. "Getting back to winning ways was vital after two recent defeats."

Manchester City is still a work in progress and, at times, a little rough around the edges. The confidence and polish need to return to the team that won the Champions League in 2023 and displayed superb soccer each time they stepped on the field.

Togetherness, the key to Manchester City's success

For Phil Foden, who was a key part of Manchester City's victory over Leeds United, the team has been able to find ways to win despite the inconsistencies they've shown throughout the Premier League season and the Champions League.

"The title race is never straightforward. There's always ups and downs and periods where you can't seem to get going and we've had that. The belief and togetherness came through at the end. Hopefully that's the case today that we can kick on from here. But you never know what to expect," Foden said after the game.

The English midfielder now has 64 Premier League goals in his career, overtaking City legend Yaya Toure and footballing icon David Beckham. "I was so hungry today to play and prove to myself I could still score goals," said Foden. "I missed a few chances against Newcastle and wanted to put it right."
