Tottenham left-back Destiny Udogie has been identified as the footballer who was allegedly threatened with a gun in north London in early September. The Metropolitan Police opened proceedings and arrested a 31-year-old man linked to the player representation sector, who was released on bail while investigations continue.

According to the police version, the officers were alerted at 23:14 on Saturday, September 6, by a report of threats with a firearm in Cockfosters Parade (Barnet). During the investigation, the testimony of another young man who had allegedly suffered threats and an attempted extortion by the same individual was also collected. The suspect was arrested on September 8 for possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear, extortion and driving without a license.
Various British media outlets suggest that the confrontation may be related to Udogie's decision not to work with the agent in question
Tottenham's stance and sporting situation
Tottenham have indicated that they are supporting Udogie and his family and, as it is an ongoing legal matter, will not make any further comment. Despite the episode, the full-back has continued to compete with Spurs, including the European fixture against Copenhagen this week (4-0).
