Alexander-Arnold says goodbye to Liverpool... On his way to Real Madrid: "It's the hardest decision I've ever made in my life".

Trent Alexander-Arnold is already part of Liverpool's history. The Reds have made official the decision of the full-back, who is wanted by Real Madrid and whose contract expires, to leave Anfield.

"Trent Alexander-Arnold has informed Liverpool FC of his intention to leave the club this summer upon the expiry of his current contract," Liverpool announced via their 'X' account.

Alexander-Arnold himself also communicated it immediately through his social networks: "After 20 years at Liverpool Football Club, the time has come to confirm that I will be leaving at the end of the season. This is without doubt the hardest decision I have ever had to make in my life.

"I know many have wondered why or have been frustrated by not having spoken about this yet, but it was always my intention to focus on what is best for the team: to secure the 20th league title," he said.

"This club has been my life, my world, for 20 years. From the Academy to now, the support and love I have felt from everyone, both inside and outside the club, will stay with me forever," he said

"I will be eternally in debt to them. But I have never known anything else, and this decision involves experiencing a new challenge, stepping out of my comfort zone and pushing myself both professionally and personally. I have given my all every day I have been at this club, and I hope they feel that I have given back during my time here," he continues

"From the bottom of my heart, I thank you all: my coaches, my representatives, my teammates, the staff and our incredible fans, for the last 20 years. I have been lucky enough to live my dreams here and I will never, ever take for granted the special moments I have been fortunate enough to experience with you all. My love for this club will never die," he concludes.
