There is no doubt that FC Barcelona endured one of their toughest matches of the season at Stamford Bridge, and after the 0-3 defeat to Chelsea, the chance of finishing directly among the top eight in the table and securing automatic qualification has become practically impossible.

One of the biggest talking points of the game was Lamine Yamal's complete disappearance, the footballing explosion of Estevao (who scored one of the three goals), and the end of a remarkable streak for Hansi Flick.

The Hansi Flick record that vanished

For the first time in his entire managerial career, a Hansi Flick team failed to score at least one goal in a Champions League match, ending a run of 36 consecutive games in which his sides had found the net.

That streak came to an end after he had achieved it in 18 games with Bayern Munich and another 18 with Barcelona - until Chelsea stood in his way.

After five matches played, the Blaugrana side sits in 15th place in the league phase table with seven points. After the game, Flick was asked about the defeat.

"Well, I think we also need a bit more - how should I put it - we need to play with a bit more aggression in our game. That's good, especially in one-on-one situations," he said in the press conference.

"Sometimes we think we can just control the ball, but here in the Champions League - and especially here against a Premier League club that is second in its domestic table - that's simply not the case. So we also have to fight harder and play more aggressively," he added.

We'll have to wait and see which version of Barcelona shows up next - the one that can't afford to drop its intensity from one day to the next. Their upcoming match is against Alavés in LaLiga, where they are chasing Real Madrid's lead at the top of the table.
