Manchester United is continuing to take steps in its futuristic plan to build a new stadium (the Wembley of the North) and abandon the mythical Old Trafford, which was last refurbished in 2006.

The Daily Mail published details of the new stadium, which will be built on a site owned by Freightliner for which Manchester United have submitted a bid of more than 57.5 million euros... compared to the 460 million euros being asked by its owners.

Despite the £350m difference, Manchester United and Freightliner are close to a deal.

The old Old Trafford, which was built in 1910, will be demolished as Manchester United invest 2.4 billion euros to build the new Old Trafford.

Manchester United's plan is to build a futuristic, modern, roofed stadium with a maximum capacity of 100,000 spectators, and they hope to be able to open it in the 2030-31 season.

In 2014, the owner of the 'Red Devils' dubbed the new stadium project "the Wembley of the North".

Manchester United's 'Wembley of the North' has been designed by the famous architect Lord Norman Foster, who is married to Spanish psychologist and presenter Elena Ochoa.
